Renewable Energy Student Faculty Association (RESFA)

Hello Fellow Energy Enthusiasts!!

I'm posting on behalf of our club newly created here at Highline Community College. We are a group of students who are interested in pushing the green initiative in any way possible. Since the clubs induction we have noticed that there are hundreds if not thousands of not only students but faculty members that share the same passion. Our president of the club is also the "Student Body" President for Highline in its entirety and, needless to say, has been using renewable energy as the cornerstone of his campaign and term. Teachers are volunteering to write the grants necessary to utilize the chemistry classes as a means to create biomass, Administration has come forth with plans on purchasing a wind turbine for educational purposes, and the students themselves have expressed the desire to convert the work out center into a means to generate energy. Through a hand’s on approach to education, RESFA hopes to capture the imagination, inspire ingenuity, and most of all increase the awareness of the importance of switching to renewable energy sources. I inform you all of this only to a.) Show that there are many other organizations out there with same goals and ambitions, and b.) Open the door to anyone who may have some wonderful ideas for our campus and community to help promote the cause.

This is a wonderful thing that you guys have going on here and we as a club jumped at the opportunity to meet and greet people of like mind and passion. Networking is key to pushing the "Green Initiative" because this is something that no one person can do alone. We must all work together and unite in common cause and vision to show the world that Fossil Fuels are now Obsolete. Renewable energy sources are the future, and it is time that we as a civilization begin to embrace that future. I want to thank each and every one of you for all that you have done to help support the future of humanity.
