What energy issues will be coming up when the 81st Texas Legislature meets in January?
Expanded use of solar power and other renewable energy resources, meeting new energy demands, and expanding the use of public transit are a few of the issues... Come hear an overview about the energy issues that were addressed by the Lonestar Sierra Club's November 15th Legislative workshop. This will be a short presentation, so please bring any additional topics that you'd like to discuss.

I cannot attend because I will be doing my radio show from 12-1 pm. I'd love for everyone to listen on your way to the meetup. My guest will be Dan Lepinski, local solar expert, and we'll be talking about new incentives to go solar. energizeGREEN KMNY-1360 am noon till 1 pm Nov. 22, 2008 -Andrea :)

    •  There was good information disseminated. The group is lucky to have someone (Robin) deeply involved in the political aspects and get first-hand info on TX legislative issues. It was too awkward of a space for discussions, but future meet-ups will be able to accommodate this. This was just one of those meeting flukes. I'm looking forward to attending more of these.

Super crowded, no reservations, hard to find if the group was there at all. Left due to confusion and crowd.
    •  In spite of the noisy crowds near us, Robin did a bang-up job of telling us about the Texas legislative issues brought up last week at the Sierra Club workshop in Austin. Lots of emotional energy was present at this meetup, which could lead to group action to address the careless attitudes of many Texans toward conservation. Look forward to Robin's posting of the issues.
    •  Everyone provided great input and insights on the upcoming issues. Perhaps we might look at dedicating a little time at each meeting to discuss where things are at with the legislature. Our venue turned out to be unexpectedly loud; we weren't able to get the usual room this time. I appreciate everyone's patience. And Rick has offered to help with booking the Central Market room, so hopefully, our meetups will be quieter in the future.
    •  The presentation was great but it was hard to hear and we lost several people who could not find us or turned around and left. Those of us who stayed benefited from the upcoming legislative issues.
    •  Great meetup! I saw the creative passion in Robin and this group to make a social responsible living in Texas. I plan to attend more of these meetups in the near future. -- mm
