2). The Denton green and energy efficient home tour experience. Eight members visited the home and asked a lot of questions. It was an extremely warm day and the home was cool quiet and comfortable.

The following is information
Regarding Nevada Court, It's a subdivision of 14 single family
homes developed by Denton Affordable Housing Corp., made to be
as Green and energy efficient as can be within the limits of an
affordable housing market. Houses range in size from 1180 to
1620 SF with an average sales price of $135,000. We're
anticipating energy and water use about half what a typical
family would experience in this locale in a conventionally
built home. In the energy efficiency category, we're selling
the houses with an energy use guarantee that the amount of
electricity and natural gas necessary to comfortably heat and
cool the houses stays below a particular amount. At today's
utility prices that translates to less than $50 / month for
our 1340 SF model home.

SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY GEOTHERMAL LAB PRESENTATION
HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS.

I have been notified that the slated presentation by SMUs Geothermal lab presentation has encountered scheduling conflicts that make it necessary to postpone the presentation to a future meetup to be announced at a later date. Although the presentation has been postponed the discussion of geothermal options will remain the focus of the meetup. For more geothermal information please go to:http://www.smu.edu/geothermal/publications/pubs.htm

I have been in contact with lab faculty and staff regarding a scientific presentation to our group at a later date and have received a positive response.

This meetup will also be concerned with the current plans for coal plant construction and the solar options available.

Keep an eye on our site for further details.

Hello Group-

CONGRATULATIONS TO US!

"OUR GROUP IS OFFICIALLY ONE YEAR OLD THIS MONTH"

As a special occasion the group will have a birthday party meetup at La Madeleine restaurant and bakery Mockingbird and Central May 26th at 6:00 p.m. following the"Green Home Tour".

Throughout the past year our group has
supported several worthwhile efforts to make our planet cleaner and safer. Events such as "Stop the coal Rush", "Step it up 2007" and other green environmental projects. Our group has visited alternative energy experiments
such as the Walmart environmentally designed store in Mckinney, The Sargent eco home in Frisco, the Fredricksburg energy fair, and contributed ideas to local home owners that made their home environments healthier.

The "Green Home Tour" is a must attend event that will assuredly provide exciting ideas for anyone interested in a better environment for them and their family.

The Dallas Progressive Alternative Energy meetup group is sponsoring an exhibit table and welcome any ideas from members that will promote our goals and ambitions.

In addition to the Birthday Party There will be a video of the Sargent eco home in Frisco with detailed information about the construction.

In summary here is the plan-

1) Attend the "Green Home Tour" I will post more details in the next day or so about this event so please check the site regularly.

2) Atend the one year birthday celebration at LaMadeleins after the tour.

3) Enjoy a great video of a great eco-home in Frisco.

Our group seems to be growing and gaining momentum. In anticipation of further growth and, in keeping with the groups policy of listening to all ideas, I would request any member wishing to put forth information do the following:
1. Contact the organizer at least 1 week prior to meet-up.
2. Must RSVP yes one week prior to meetup.
3. Limit presentation to 15 minutes with 10 minutes of Q.A.
Although it is important that our group seriously approach the meetup as a forum for spreading knowledge, actively changing the things we know to be detrimental to our existence and initiate programs that will help people better their lives, open one on one idea exchanges lead to unity and respect.
Hopefully by following the above requirements all membership should come away from the meetup with a sense of contribution. If not there is always next meetup.
