Come join us for a discussion on attics - everything from what type of insulation to use to what areas are important to insulate to what type of ventilation is the most benefical for my home. Such questions as how much do you need? What are the approximate costs of each? What are the health implications of each? Which ones are do-it-yourself friendly and which ones need a professional to install?
Our Speaker will be Josh Santallin with Go Green Solutions. He will answer these questions as well as any you may have on this "hot" topic! Please note the time for this meetup is 1:30 PM instead of the usual 1:00PM.

Sorry Members. Due to scheduling conflicts, location and speakers we will not be having a meetup this month. I tried from every angle and could not get everything to come together at the same time. However, we WILL be having a meeting in August (time & date to be annouced shortly) so bring your thoughts and ideas as we will also being having a short business meeting after our presentation. Also remember to write down what you did in your own home, work or community to conserve energy as we will be sharing these ideas after the next meeting as well. Stay cool and until next month, Save energy, Debbie

This month's meeting is a Home Energy Audit. Come and see how they are done, what it entails, what you can do to improve your own home and get some of those "tax benefits"! Since it will be held at one of our member's home and done by one of our member's own company, it is only open to our members who RSVP by Friday, June 19th at 6PM. When you RSVP, I will then send you the directions to the home in Richardson. Enjoy the knowledge! P.S. if we have more members than we can accommodate, we will hold another audit between our meeting dates so everyone will get a change to attend one of these audits.

This will be a follow-up of the Live Green in Plano which most of us attended last month. For those you did not get to attend, come and hear what seminars and vendors were there and participate in discussions on what is new and available for our area from energy saving devices for home, work and vehicles as well as gardening, home improvements, water conservation, etc. This was bigger than last year and we even had several members who had booths. Those members who staffed booths, we would really like for you to say a few words if you can. Any handouts or advice you have, please bring them to share. We might even think about hosting a booth for next year...lets talk about it. Don't forget to make copies of your handouts and bring for the rest of us! See you then!

Come join us in February to hear Dave Pennington speak about biodiesel. He just got a processor and will be making his own biodiesel soon. If you're not familiar with the term... Biodiesel is a fuel that is non-petroleum-based and usually consists of vegetable oil. It can be used alone or blended with a conventional diesel fuel in a unmodified diesel-engine vehicle. There are also efforts around the metroplex to recycle used cooking oil for biodiesel use. For more on cooking oil recycling, click here. And I hope you will join us on the 28th!
