About The San Diego Alternative Energy Meetup Group

The San Diego Alternative Energy group is for people who want to both learn and make a difference in what & how our community consumes energy for housing, transportation, and industry.

We are an ambitious group which is motivated to help make San Diego a leader in reducing our dependence on conventional fuels which damage the environment, are expensive, and lessen our national security.

We will be inviting experts to speak, adopting better sources & practices ourselves, promoting new business formation, and advocating energy-related initiatives at the government level.

In addition to the serious reasons, we are a social group that's open to a wide range of fun & interesting activities. Any ideas are welcome. Attending festivals, field trips, trade shows, movie nights, and social mixers are some of the things to keep us busy & entertained. We just might carpool, or take mass transit, to get there!

If you are not active in attending meetings or making a difference in the community, then sorry, but this is not the group for you. Also, if you think the Global Warming is some kind of a hoax, then please don't join us as this just isn't the group for you.


OUR MISSION STATEMENT

THE MISSION OF THE SAN DIEGO ALTERNATIVE ENERGY GROUP (SDAEG) IS TO ADVOCATE RENEWABLE ENERGY USE, CONSERVATION PRACTICES, AND SUSTAINABLE CIVIC PLANNING. THROUGH LEARNING, INITIATIVE, AND ACTIVITIES WE WILL HELP BRING ABOUT CHANGES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR SAN DIEGANS. ULTIMATELY OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE SAN DIEGO A SHOWCASE FOR ALTERNATIVE ENERGY!

* Our group meetings and activities will need to be well focused given the vast size of the topic.
