San Diego businesses, government agencies and non-profits are joining forces for a green cause. This year the California Center for Sustainable Energy ( CCSE) is hosting the Sustainability Fair. CCSE will partner with San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), the city of San Diego and the San Diego County Water Authority to host the premiere event. The focus of the fair is to provide education and outreach regarding sustainability.

The Sustainability fair will feature a number of vendor displays and workshops, providing the latest technology and information in sustainable energy, water use, recycling and waste management.

Visitors can also check out drought resistant landscape designs, learn about the latest green cleaning products as well as ways to improve their energy efficiency.

Speakers will share information to assist your organization on ways to integrate sustainable and energy-efficient technologies, water conservation measures and recycling.

If anyone interested in getting brunch at 94th Aero Squadron around 10:30AM, let me know. Very close to CCSE. In any case let's have a group gathering near entrance door of CCSE at 1PM. If you have name tag, please put "SDAEG" on it to identify yourself to other members.

    •  The fair had standard vendors there for solar PV & Thermal, with a few new ones on rainwater collecting and even farming your own fish in a barrel system. However turnout for meetup gathering very disappointing, I was only able to connect with 3 people despite 32 signing up. I know, great beach day, but I wish members had the courtesy to update their RSVP if they can't make it. To tell you the honest truth, I'm not planning any more Meetups given this kind of poor turnout. Come on, Get Classy San Diego!
    •  it was worth attending because it left me with the ability to follow up after the event with many sources of information....mostly solar however not as much onwaste management and othe radvertised content! I think the group[ showuld have a function and decide what we are going to do to promote alternative energy..
    •  Our group was provided with a table, chairs and canopy. The staff was very kind and even provided a lunch. I was able to talk to a large number of people and some even had to take a solar cooker home with them. This was a great opportunity to meet with members and the general public to teach about solar cooking. Hope the chocolate chip cookies were good. From now on I will be armed with chocolate chip cookie mix when I solar cook.
    •  I found out useful and interesting information. Gave me a better picture of what is already out there in terms of alternative energy possibilities.

Nurit and I got there around 2:30 and didn't see anyone with name tags. We enjoyed the electric bikes and turbo-swamp cooler.
    •  There was good information available at the fair, too many solar exhibitors. The lectures were informative.

This was a wonderful event. I actually got so caught up learning about all the stuff that I forgot to meetup with you all. I am sure that I saw you around though. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!

The fair was extremely informative. One stop shopping for all of our green building needs! BTW: Here is the link to the facebook page for our carbon neutral home: http://www.facebo...
    •  I would like to have had more time to meet with others of the group - perhaps at the next event if it is smaller. One surprising thing I really enjoyed was getting a chance to ride electric motorcycle, electric scooter and electric bicycle - too fun!
