"Water for Energy - Energy for Water"

Lecture about manipulating plants to produce energy and to minimize energy use for agriculture. Plant genomics and energy extraction from plants discussed. Advanced R&D, getting it from lab to market.

UPDATE Feb 11

Interest has been strong and the lecture is now FULL. Hopefully those who RSVP's on here also registered on Forums website at link below.

IF YOU DID NOT ALREADY REGISTER AT LINK BELOW there may not be room in lecture room as is now closed to new invites. I just called and coordinator said there is over 200 RSVP's and room holds 100, but I figure only half will show, so will be tight. But they will have overflow onto patio for program lecture.

Talk about this Meetup

Who attended?

  • 22 attendees
    •  Excellent panel and nicely catered event.
    •  Thanks for setting this up Bill! Great presentation. Although I was a bit disappointed about the focus on genetically modifying plants I learned much about where our water comes from and the huge amount of energy used to pump and clean it. Oh, and the appetizers were quite tasty. (BTW please let me know about the small farmer that you mentioned)

I thought that the SSI did a great job with the overall presentation and presenters, as well as the appetizers. Didn't meet the other members of the meetup group, as it was a well attended event not specific to the group. Look forward to meeting them at the next event!
    •  Great! Presentation by experts in the field about subjects of concern to people capable of concern. Hot Damn.
