ElectroVelo Rally and Competition

ElectroVelo, a rally promoting ultra efficient Human powered vehicles (HPV's), and related ultra efficient electric vehicle competition known as Electrathon.

Admission for spectators is free, and cost for participants will be $5.00, to cover the cost of insurance for the rally and racing at Beech Ridge.

With the global climate crisis in the headlines more each day, and additional problems like peak oil, gas prices, etc., the interest in, and use of HPV's is increasing daily.

And with over one hundred years experience plus the infusion of new materials and technologies the use of HPV's has become a serious consideration with the bicycle making a strong come back.

This also follows the increased awareness in personal health as the Baby Boomers continue to influence national and world trends.

In terms of energy expended for a given distance traveled, the bicycle and similar technologies represent the most efficient means of mechanical transportation on the planet and HPV's include some of the most efficient (and comfortable) machines in the pedal powered family.

So come on out and see some of these ultra efficient vehicles, and see some new ways to burn fat instead of petroleum!
