 oting ultra efficient Human powered vehicles (HPV's)\, and related ultra ef
 ficient electric vehicle competition known as Electrathon.\n\nAdmission for
  spectators is free\, and cost for participants will be $5.00\, to cover th
 e cost of insurance for the rally and racing at Beech Ridge.\n\nWith the gl
 obal climate crisis in the headlines more each day\, and additional problem
 s like peak oil\, gas prices\, etc.\, the interest in\, and use of HPV's is
  increasing daily.\n\nAnd with over one hundred years experience plus the i
 nfusion of new materials and technologies the use of HPV's has become a ser
 ious consideration with the bicycle making a strong come back.\n\nThis also
  follows the increased awareness in personal health as the Baby Boomers con
 tinue to influence national and world trends.\n\nIn terms of energy expende
 d for a given distance traveled\, the bicycle and similar technologies repr
 esent the most efficient means of mechanical transportation on the planet a
 nd HPV's include some of the most efficient (and comfortable) machines in t
