Hi,

I am sorry I missed the meeting but i would love to come out next month. Unfortunately 6pm is too early for me and probably is for a lot of people who work. Is there any chance of moving the meeting time to 7pm next month?

A special announcement from mike adams, Organizer of NY Wind Power

hello,

thanks to those of you that attended last nights meeting. there were five in attendence: myself, rob, doug, tess, and lorrie.

sorry to those of you who culd not make it or found out too late. please check the calender for future meetings and possibly other events. we liked the location- there is a great atmosphere. June 13th may be the next meeting.

items discussed were the wind power option for electricity, a possible new wind farm within nyc, residential turbines and the viability of vertical turbines in the city- thanks for the additional knowledge, doug. we watched a short video clip from the movie about cuba getting past their oil crisis, 'power of community'.

here's some info- 98% of nyc in cirty electric generation is from oil and gas. nyc needs to develop local renewables and decrease usage. there are suitable locations for wind development in NYC. i am collecting names of people in support of bringing wind power to ny. see the files page for the email sheet. also, cfl usage by homeowners can produce remarkable decreases in electric use.

for the month of may (and possibly longer) anyone who enrolls in the wind power option at www.nywind.com will receive 4 free cfl bulbs in the mail. this shows support of renewables, lessens our use of fossil fuels, and reduces consumption. spread the word.

mike
