"America is addicted to oil" Pres. Bush in 2006 State of Union. But, he made small plans for energy restructuring.

Human population growth has been made possible by fossil fuels, esp. petroleum/natural gas. Morality, requires reverence for life, human and natural. Reverence for life means a sustainable future for life on earth as long as the sun shall shine -- many millions more years of which humanity should be a vital and caring part. Humanity must fulfill the abmonition to be good stewards. Unlimited growth of fossil energy use and population is not consistent with the morality of sustainable life.

In the 70s the US oil production rates reached their maximum and started a gradual decline. We adjusted because the world still had an oil that could be produced at increasing rates. Soon, the world's oil supply will peak and go into a decline - this time the adjustments will not be simple.

The physical infrastructure of our society must change to be sustainable without oil and natural gas. Let's explore how this can be done?

"America is addicted to oil" Pres. Bush in 2006 State of Union. But, he made small plans for energy restructuring. Let's discuss future needs & the Petrocollapse Conference now planning.

Our civilization currently depends too much on petroleum and natural gas as a super-dense, fairly stable source of energy and as a source of chemicals used to make many products. Without cheap and plentiful supplies of petroleum and natural gas the world will be unable to function as we know it.

In the 70s the US oil production rates reached their maximum and started a gradual decline. We adjusted because the world still had an oil that could be produced at increasing rates. Soon, the world's oil supply will peak and go into a decline - this time the adjustments will not be simple.

Natural gas is even more complicated. I takes great expense of money and energy to freeze it into a liquid (LNG) for transportation overseas and then process the super-cooled liquid upon arrival. LNG is an explosion hazard too. The end of natural gas could be severe. We are seeing more price volatility than for crude oil now.

The physical infrastructure of our society must change to be sustainable without oil and natural gas. Let's explore how this can be done?
